The next SWIG evening will be a series of lightning talks on Wednesday
25th July from 7.00-8.30pm at Wadham College
[http://www.wadham.ox.ac.uk/]. Timed to coincide with the XML Summer
School [http://www.xmlsummerschool.com/] we will have guests from that
event including Bob Du Charme [http://www.snee.com/bobdc.blog/] who will
be chairing the Semantic Web Strategies conference later this year
[http://www.semanticwebstrategies.com/].
We are looking for offers of presentations (5 or 10 minute slots) for
the evening. Titles (no abstracts but please come prepared to talk) for
talks on projects (actual or desired) that you would like to see exist,
or comments on neat resources that you have discovered, should be sent
to eamonn at xmlopen.org - so that I can do logistics for the evening. We
will have an Internet connected computer - so you don't have to bring
along a presentation (a memory stick or sans visual aides [for the
confident] is fine).
As ever, entrance to the SWIG is open to all interested parties (just
mention the Oxon SWIG to the porter and you will be directed to the old
Refectory which is downstairs). As well as enjoying the SWIG meeting,
and meeting delegates from the Summer School, you may want to attend the
Oxford Geek Night [http://oxford.geeknights.net/2007/july-25th/] on the
same night. This will be the recommended continuation event after the
SWIG meeting.
I look forward to seeing many of you in a fortnight.
-Eamonn
